Allariz was known in the Middle Ages as the key to the Galician Kingdom. Step back in time as you wander through the cobblestone streets of Allariz Old Town and enjoy a relax escape that includes local gastronomy, history and unique tales.
From the roman routes and forts in the area, to its important role as heart of the fashion and leather industries that filled the village up to the XXth Century, you will deep dive in the big and small history of the village.

Allariz has always had an important role in trade. Merchants would come here for locally produced goods, like leather and wool, greens and dairy from the surrounding fields and the products that villagers from Celanova, Portugal or other places brought here,
On this expedition you will have the chance to learn about the merchants of Allariz and the products that are now produced in the area, directly from its producers.
Learn about the gastronomic present and past of the region
Allariz is a very gastronomic village. You will find its gastronomic spirit at the local markets, the small gourmet shops, the bakeries and the restaurants, some of which are located in old factories, water mills and century old shops.
But we will not stop there, our expedition will include meal recommendations to taste each season and the most unique flavours. And a local cheese production and tasting at the farm where basque artist Ibarrola created one of its most representative interventions.
