Here on the Costa da Morte, the sea is part of the DNA: in the towns, in the trades, in the cuisine, and in many of its stories and legends.
On this journey, you’ll explore small fishing villages, workshops, harbors, lighthouses, shrines, and landscapes that open out to the ocean. You’ll get an up-close look at the work of net makers, fishing gear makers, shellfish gatherers, and barnacle harvesters. And you’ll discover a coastline that maintains a strong connection to its trades and traditions, all while enjoying some of the most breathtaking landscapes in northern Spain.

The sea, up close
Ports remain one of the best places to connect with the local people of the Costa da Morte. Boats coming and going, nets being prepared to head back out to sea, and fish arriving at the fish market are all part of daily life.
During the tour, you’ll get a close-up look at the work of shellfish gatherers, barnacle harvesters, and net makers, learn how they go about their work, and discover a part of the coast that usually lies off the beaten path.
When conditions permit, you’ll also be able to admire it from the sea.
Hand-Knitted Stories
In Camariñas and Muxía, you can hear the fashion before you see it. The click-clack of traditional bobbin lace-making continues to be part of daily life in Camariñas, Muxía, and countless homes throughout the region.
At local workshops and associations, you can observe up close how lace is made, meet some of the women who keep this craft alive, and understand the role it has played in the economy and daily life of these towns.

Facing the Wild Atlantic
Cabo Vilán, El Roncudo, Fisterra, Muxía, and the lookouts facing the Sisargas Islands offer a chance to discover some of the most spectacular features of the Costa da Morte coastline.
Throughout the entire itinerary, there will be time to explore these places at a leisurely pace: walking along the cliffs, visiting lighthouses and churches, and stopping at spots where the landscape alone explains why this coast has always been linked to seafaring and the ocean (and the dangers they entail).
A different way to experience what for centuries was considered the end of the world.
Product, Cuisine, and Region
The connection to the sea is also on the menu. Fish, seafood, and traditional recipes coexist today with cuisines that showcase local ingredients from a more contemporary perspective.
Throughout the tour, we’ll suggest restaurants where you can sample both the most traditional and the most creative dishes. But this journey will take you even further, giving you the chance to get to know producers and projects linked to the local culinary scene up close.
